Preschools provide a firm and strong foundation to the Early childhood years with the warmth, care and learning they provide. These learnings are of myriad natures ranging from empathy, respect, interpersonal relations, trust, sharing, belongingness, critical thinking, cognitive development, improving motor skills, learning to see joy in things, finding art around, learning to laugh it off and so much and so more.

All these become possible when the children are not just in a stimulating environment but also with a passionate early childhood educator who has a heart full of love, warmth & respect for the little ones. The educator has to have a very crucial quality of being able to feel the gratitude towards the bundles of joy they have been blessed with to teach.

While it is more convenient to achieve all the goals (that ideally are set by teachers for themselves) in a regular classroom setting, it can be quite a task when social distancing is the new normal (or so to say for the next few months). That wouldn’t and shouldn’t mean that we let the little ones stay away from learning and fun altogether. Online learning sessions will surely prove to be helpful to keep the children in a schedule, keep them connected with their teachers, make sure that we are taking care of not just learning but mindfulness too. We as teachers will have to make sure that we do not go after finishing curriculum but keep it simple and easy to be done.

As it is correctly said that there always is a scope of improvement in everything that we do, so will it be once the online learning sessions begin for the preschoolers. There will be challenges, queries, doubts of parents etc but with strong support of each other we will make this pass too and successfully.

Wishing all the teachers, parents and children all the best and let’s say a little prayer that the world heals soon!

Best Regards
